Does Snapple's Diet Green Tea "Metabolism" actually fuel your metabolism like it says it should?

Is there a way to prevent your metabolism from slowing down after a diet?

  • I discovered that the diet I'm on isn't healthy (although I've lost weight on it) as there are far too few calories in it (500-700, approximately). Apparently it could "mess up" my metabolism (not quite sure what that means). I'm trying to switch to a healthier diet that will still allow me to lose weight. How can I keep from gaining weight back and letting my metabolism run haywire? Thanks for all answers!

Protein is the answer NOT CALORIES, although common sense says don't pig out before you go to bed. Protien fills you up and takes longer to digest, so if you have it WITH your meal eg egg or milk with breakfast or soy, meat for lunch and NO CARBS eg rice, pasta bread FOR EVENING MEAL you will find that you will be full, not hungry and satiated.\ Cut back on high fat, eg chocolate etc or your cravings will be all over the place AND you will get hungry. You didnt LOSE WEIGHT THAT IS HEALTHY..you probably lost MUSCLE AND WATER and it will return as soon as you resume proper intake. INSTEAD CONTROL THE CALORIES so you eat what is required..a diet means your body thinks its about to starve, so it will do the opposite and encourage you to retain fat... Your body willl THEN catch up when diet ends. INSTEAD EAT PROPERLY eg fruit and veg, healthy meats no junk or soft drinks etc, your body will then take care of itself and will be in FAT BURNING MODE. Read up on low GI diets as well....you need to exercise and need to give your body the right fuel. I never knew all this..so was overweight not knowing all the carbs made me hungry I do still have junk but I am careful to burn it off and pay attention if i am not hungry. Hope it helps...
