    Click "My Activity" at top of page Select "Edit My Preferences" Click "Update photo or avatar" Follow instructions to select your photo/avatar Click "Submit" on bottom of original page when done To make a carton avatar: http://avatar.yahoo.com Make sure your Pulse profile is not hidden. :o)

Your profile is hidden so you can't get a picture avatar.You need to uncheck that option.It has nothing to do with keeping your activities private as the first answer says.Hiding your profile literally means hiding your face in this instance.Once you uncheck the hidden profile,go to your pulse profile,click on the profile icon & Change Picture will pop up on the bottom of your present avatar,then click on the upward arrow.Choose your picture from your picture file & don't forget to click on save at the bottom of the page.
