HELP WITH BEDROOM DECOR?

  • I'd like to redecorate my bedroom, since I've had it the same ever since I was 6 (I'm a teenager now). My room is a really light pink, with a princess border. I have a huge corner desk, a metal double-sized bed and a wooden book shelf. I also have bulletin boards and stuff. My dad said he will remove the border (finally!) and we have an old white desk that's smaller that I can use. Do any of you have some ideas on how I can make this bedroom better? The walls are blank except for a neon clock and a poster. Thanks!

    What color is your bed? If you're putting a white desk in there you might want to consider repainting the walls, or one of them, in a contrasting color so that the white desk stands out. For instance, you could paint the wall behind your bed. Then I'd add other pieces of furniture in white...

Nobody can tell you what you like... so my advice would be for you to decide that and then discuss with your dad options for purchases and repainting... Look at magazines and on decorating blogs, see if any style pops out at you. Look for cool stylish beddings, walk thru the aisles of department and big box stores like walmart, meijer and target for ideas, especially around fall when they put out cool stuff for young adults going away to college to decorate their room with. If you are good at crafts or wanna try a DIY project, pick out a project or two and elicit dad's help (and money) haha. Things I think are essential for girls- a nice vanity for doing hair and make-up. I like picture boards make of soft material with rubber bands where you can put up lots of pics of friends and family and a bookcase (I believe in reading!) but the choice is yours...
