Feeling of a lump in my throat, please help?

Lump in throat but not cancer,Please read?

  • I have a lump in the right side of my neck.Under my jaw beside my right.I went to my doctor a few weeks ago and he said i could have a infection coming on and gave me pills.But if hasn't helped and now when i swallow i can kind of feel this lump move and it's an awkward feeling and hard to explian.But he checked my throat and he is a doctor so i'm guessing if it was serious he would have seen something? What could it be beside cancer.I can feel it getting a dull pain from time to time now as well.I would just like some help on this issue please.

    It is/was most likely a swollen lymph node which is caused by collection of lymph fluid. This occurs when your body is fighting an infection. That is why your doctor (carelessly) gave you antibiotics. You probably have a viral infection which takes about 3 weeks to get over.
