Volunteer Trip To Africa?

Where would you go on a volunteer trip?? China, India, or Africa?

  • I have an amazing opportunity to volunteer in one of these three places this summer. Trouble is I can't even begin to decide! I'll be 18 when I go, just graduated :) I really love ancient culture etc which is why I was thinking China maybe.. But you don't physically build anything as you do in India and Africa, so I don't know if it's as big of an impact? Also, I'm taking a gap year, but applying to Uni this fall, do you think they will care at all where I go? I hope they can see my passion for world cultures, since I have mostly done local volunteering, so nothing that really sticks out in that aspect. I know they might not care at all but still worth the consideration! :) So thank you in advance for any advice!

    My mind says china, my spirit says India, my heart says Africa. It depends, though, on whereabouts you'd be going to in china, India, and Africa. Please clarify and ill edit with my suggestions.

Kind of depends, really. If you want to do a bit of building and maybe make a bit of a bigger impact then try India or Africa. In China, as you said, you probably don't really do any physical building. It's all up to you, either way. I'd love to go to any one of the 3. =)
