Business Communication?

What is communication in business?

  • Answer:

Hi, that is a really broad question. Communication in business is anything that transmits information from one place to another. That Information could be transmitted by voice or by written and graphical communication to a person or it can also mean the transmission of business information between IT systems and processes. Examples of external communication : A newspaper, radio, tv or internet advert. A telephone call with a supplier could also be classed as an external business communication. Two factors that help make communication effective : 1. Well written marketing literature, written in a language and style that would be easily understood by the target audience. If your trying to sell to young people then it would be wise to use language and phrases that is contemporary, young, hip and trendy as opposed to sounding official and boring which would be a turn off for young people. 2. Directing your communication to the right audience e.g. if you sell plumbing supplies to the trade then there would be little value in advertising in a national newspaper as most of the people that would see your ad would not be interested in such products. It would therefore be better to advertise in a plumbing magazine or trade publication and that way you will reach your target audience. Hope that has given you a few pointers to think about. Best of luck.
