Answer:
16 is considered legal in the UK, as far as I know (my husband is British). So, she's free to marry whomever she chooses. BUT I would implore you to wait, hun. Give yourselves every chance to provide for yourselves, through education and/or good-paying jobs. Learn a bit about yourselves as adults before you jump into an early marriage. Honestly, if I had married the guy I was with at 18, I probably would've jumped off a cliff by now. I got married at 34, and while you might not want to wait until then, you really should wait. If you are older than I think you are, then at least give her a chance to experience life a bit, and become the woman she wants to be. I don't think her parents hate you; rather, I think they see you as a distraction from what should be her formative years. And, to be honest, you are with all of this talk of marriage. I bet they would be willing to give you more of a chance if you backed off a bit. That said, if you're planning to follow through with marriage, please don't just bring her back to your country without sorting out her immigration status first. I filed for my husband's K-1 visa while he was in England, then brought him here on that visa, married him and adjusted his status. That is the right and honest way to do it.

Though she is old enough to marry you, you can't go on a tourist visa and marry her, imagine if that was so easy? If you don't plan to stay in UK you need a "visitors for marriage" visa: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas-immigration/visiting/marriage-cp/

You cannot marry in the UK on a tourist visa. You must apply either for a Marriage Visitors Visa as linked above if you only want to marry in the UK then return to the US, or a fiancé visa if you plan to marry in the UK then stay with your spouse in the UK for a while after marriage In either case your wife would not be able to return to the US with you. You need to return home then file a CR1 spouse visa for her which takes about 8-12 months to process It would be faster and easier for you to marry in the US. You file for a K1 fiancé visa for her, which takes about 6-9 months to process, then she comes to the US, gets married, and you file an adjustment of status. She does not need to leave the US while this is in progress. This is the only way he two of you can be together after marriage. If you marry in the UK you will be apart for up to a yer until her spouse visa has been approved
