What is the very best way to get into the insurance business?

How much would insurance be for a small business in Corpus Christi?

  • I am doing a school project and I need to know a price of insurance for a fictional business. I have already canned and received information about the certain location, but I cannot find a way to get a quote online without giving them my name. Here is the information I have: Business 942 Sq ft Assuming 2 years of experience Bottom floor of 2 story building Clothing and gift shop Only 8 employees. I only want a general liability quote. Any number will do, I just would like to know your source, for example, do you work for a, insurance company or do you have a similar business? Thank you for your help!

You can't get a quote online, even WITH giving your name. Business insurance cannot be purchased over the internet. Those websites are actually trying to harvest your personal information to sell it to hundreds of agents. I'm an agent. I've written this type of business. The liability for NEW retail clothing, stand alone, is going to run $750 a year. If you don't pay cash up front for your stock, you'll need property coverage, and a package will run you $1500. Assuming, of course, you've got monitored fire and theft alarms. Worse, with 8 employees, you also need workers comp - so add $2000 to that for workers comp.

For general liability, you are looking at somewhere between $1,200 and 2,000. It would be cheaper as a business owner package, which would include coverage for your contents as well. You also need to have workers compensation. I would put your annual premium at $6,000, but the premium is directly based off of payroll.

You're asking the wrong people here. You should be getting quotes from insurance companies that do business in Corpus Christi, not the assortment of trolls who hang out on Yahoo! Answers.
