Would you recommend crepe paper or tissue paper for DIY flowers?

Answer:
I just visited this site: http://howaboutorange.blogspot.com/2011/04/make-flowers-from-crepe-paper.html It has a wonderful looking flower made of crepe paper. It also gives instructions. The crepe paper has a texture; look at the photos on the site above. Tissue paper is flat and thin. I'd go with crepe paper flowers if you have the time. I don't know that it will be worth it. If time is not on your side, then try looking at the 99Cents only store or other dollar store for silk flowers. It might end up being less expensive and time consuming. If you don't like the choices from the dollar stores, Michaels and Joann's fabrics have coupons every Sunday and their silk flowers look realistic. You're going to have to price it out.

Depends what look you're going for. Why limit yourself to crepe/tissue? what about fabric? old music sheets? old newspapers in foreign languages?

Just recently I dipped coffee filters into food coloring and this made a really cool effect. You can cut the ends to look more like petals.

Tissue paper is a light weight thin paper. As I recall, crepe paper is a wrinkled paper which is thicker than tissue paper but is not nearly as thick as writing tablet paper. I would use both the tissue paper and the crepe paper because it will give a bouquet some depth and texture, adding interest to your bouquet.

This Site Might Help You. RE: Would you recommend crepe paper or tissue paper for DIY flowers? I am trying to get ideas for my wedding and am confused on whether to use crepe paper or tissue paper for DIY flowers and bouquets. What is the difference between the two as far as looks and feel goes and which do you think would look better for wedding decorations? Thank you for your help :)

If you don't have a local craft shop, try a card shop which often sells it as wrapping. If not, you should be able to find it somewhere on the net so do another search. eBay is good for craft stuff.
