They're trying to invoke sympathy.

They are showing pictures available of Martin, and I've seen ones showing him that tall, not just today but in the very beginning they were showing current photos. A 17-year old looks pretty young, so don't assume that's all they are showing. Though the media plays on inciting emotions with sensationalism, they play a story for all its worth and for greatest impact - this is what they do. Zimmerman said Martin approached him from behind. And, if Zimmerman was on the ground the whole time, explain how witnesses said they found him seconds after the shot rang out, Zimmerman standing over the boys face-down body. And, just tell my exactly why a Neighborhood Watch person was prowling the community wearing a gun and following a potential assailant? Was he licensed to carry a gun? Could not he have simply observed and reported his actions to the police? Could he have stayed back and out of sight which all the people who called the Police did? If Zimmerman had simply waited for the police and not continued pursuing the boy then this would have been a non-event. Zimmerman acted aggressively in following. And may have frightened the boy enough that he felt he had to defend himself - the boy may have felt threatened now know who he was. And, if what Zimmerman stated to the dispatcher was true, would it not stand to reason that the boy may have thought Zimmerman was the one breaking into the houses, and tackled him thinking he was a criminal. We will never know the truth, only conjecture. I'd be happy to believe Zimmerman if his story rang true, but his explanations don't gel - they are questionable. Particularly that he shot an unarmed young man to death.

Thank you LadyB and Miranda. They have shown recent pictures of him. Maybe you should watch another news channel. If what you're trying to do is sublimanally alter the opinions of people who know the truth, then try again. Some people actually have common sense and they know that regardless of Martin's height, he was an unarmed, innocent CHILD (a 17 year old boy is a child) that wasn't causing any trouble, simply walking to and from the store, that did not deserve to be stalked and killed by the racist pig. He even tried to run away from the murderer that continued to follow him, after the 911 dispatcher told him not to, but was chased down and killed. Witnesses heard Martin screaming for help shortly before his death. Not to mention that new footage has surfaced with Zimmerman blood and bruise free right after the incident. Maybe the question should be, why are you asking Yahoo members? Maybe you should consider asking your local media. We wouldn't know!
