Answer:
There is no BEST gift for any person. I would suggest you something which will actually work out! Buy lots of stuff, all of them need not be costly. Ofcourse, depends on how much you can afford. For ex: Buy the cufflinks, and buy some book or phone or whatever it is. Wrap up something like 4-5 gifts, including a lovely greeting card if you are that type. The point is, if you get a chance to stay with him the whole day, surprise him the whole day. Gifts here and there, walk with him towards the gifts, and let him find your gifts, and he should excited, about what's next. And find a nice pic of you and him, or he and any one else he loves ( err, like his mom, sis etc.,) and get it framed. etc. Bottom Line: Many Gifts ( all of them can be considerably expensive , Wrap them all and put in different locations). And yeah! My wishes to your dude, for a very happy birthday, with some one who thinks about him so much!

Get him two nice shirts that you know he'll wear (similar styles and colours to what he usually wears as they tend to get rebellious about only wearing certain colours and styles of shirts. etc); otherwise, if you know he likes wine, go and pick a nice wine from a local winery. I'm not sure of what your age is so if you're under eighteen, get your mum to pick it up for you and pay her for it. Belle Fleur is another idea. They are a nice box of French chocolates and there are no finer chocolates anywhere. If you bought him a medium sized box and a shirt, that would be quite good. If none of the above appeal to you, take him to a French restaurant for a three course meal. Look up The Little Snail. That is a sophisticated sort of present as well as a romantic one that wouldn't embarrass him.

Cufflinks would be fine if he likes them and wears them. If he doesn't, then it would be dumb. Some of my most treasured gifts I have had for years are books. If he is one of those people who "already has everything", a donation to his favorite charity might be good. Maybe some tickets to something he will enjoy- a concert or sporting event? I also really treasure things that people make for me, I pretty much have everything I really need, so I like stuff like that.

don't get him anything of the usual like u said, get him something he will remember, for example tickets to his favorite sporting event. or maybe merchandise from his favorite basketball team or something like that.
