What are some good songs to learn for a beginner at the piano?

most modern day 21st century songs are not for beginners. You can learn some coldplay or other such songs.Those are easy enough to figure out, but you can google sheet music if you wish. I suggest going to free-scores.com and search for beginner piano solos, there's a butt ton available.

If you enjoy anime, go to Josh's transcription site. I play some simple bagatelles from Lucky Star, K-ON!, Princess Nine, etc. Anime bagatelles and eye-catches are excellent beginner pieces, as are Beethoven's Eccossaise (exercise) pieces. They get you ready for longer and more-difficult pieces.

Classic showtunes are great and some modern artists may have easier songs than you think. You can always get easy.piano books to your favorite cds. Some music sheet sites even have databases where you can look up songs by difficultly

Certain songs may not require you to practice certain techniques you may need to know in order to play the piano (like crossing your hands over). You can certainly teach yourself to read music--but only if you're patient, and you seem to get frustrated and bored easily. There are certainly a lot of popular songs arranged for easy piano, and it just because you might have to learn "kids stuff" to pick up what you need to know, there isn't any rule that says you can't play whatever extra music you want in your own free time. There are a lot of piano teachers out there and there are courses designed for adults. Plus, if you actually want to play classical music (since you posted here), you will have to get a teacher eventually. Don't end up as one of those people who keep writing in to ask for the 'letter notes" or can't play with both hands at once.
