Why can't I Format my PSP?

  • I bought a psp off ebay and it tells me I have to Format my psp to use it on my computer before I can use it but every time I try to Format it it tells me: "You Need to format the disc in Drive M: before I can use it." but every time I format Disc (My PSP) it says: "Windows was unable to complete the Format" Then it says: "Check to see that the disc and drive are connected properly, make sure that the disc is not read-only, and then try again. For more information, search Help for read-only files and how to change them." what does this mean why won't it complete the format?? I really need help so I can format my psp and listen to music and watch my videos on it!

    are you trying to format the psp while its connected to the computer? because i think you can just format it from the psp going to the settings or something and there should be a formating option(if you have a memory stick or the one it came with if it did).

there SHOULD be an option on your PSP in the settings menu about formatting it, then you would need to update software and download the plugin for the music player,if that doesn't work, try a hard reset and then the previous steps
