Why do all the radios in my house suddenly make a buzzing sound (radio wave trip) when I switch on a light?
-
Hey I'm telling this profoundly, please don't say something stupid like "showing a sign of ghost is in your house".... Even one of my radio is battery operated, without power supply, it suddenly make a buzzing sound and the wave trips the moment I switch on a light in my room. How can this happen? Not a jest!

Answer:
Do you have aluminum wires? If the house was built in the 70s there is a chance, and they are a fire hazard when they get old. You can pull a switch plate off and look at the wires: aluminum is gray, copper is reddish or brown. I second the advice about grounding. I used to work on aircraft and a ground fault would cause a terrific amount of static in the radios.

There is a floating ground or neutral problem with the structure's electrical. This can also be very dangerous to you or anyone that is working on the phone, cable or if the structure encounters a lightning strike. Get the place GROUNDED. What you are hearing is literally the 60 cycle alternating current that inherently makes radio waves, but must have a good ground. The other cause could be a fluorescent ballast trying to quit on you.....
