What is the meaning of diwali?

Can you please read my story "celebration of diwali" and tell me what i need to add? (it is NOT done)?

• i need your honest opinion, it is a story for childrens book its about an indian hiliday diwali Celebration Of Diwali Once upon a time there was a family from India, A mother with a husband and her two children, A girl names Aarna and a boy names Akshi. The mother is able to read and write, and wants to teach her kids to learn the skills too so they could have a better life. Her husband is always working so he does not have a lot of time to spend with his family, he comes back home late, tired and hungry and wakes up very early to go to work again the next day. Aarna was very bubbly, always happy, wants to learns new things and always very helpful to her mother. Akshi is sort of lazy and doesn’t like to help around, but he does like to learn about things. He causes trouble for he’s neighbors. “ Aarna, Diwali is coming up soon I must teach you and your brother about it” Says the mother “ What is Diwali Mother?” Aarna asks curiously “ Diwali is most important holiday in India, it celebrated in October or November, it is celebrated for five days” On the first day Diwali is called Dhanvantari Triodasi or Dhanwantari Triodasi also called Dhan TherasOn the first day at sunset Hindus should bathe and offer a lighted deeya with Prasad Yama Raj, the lord of death and pray for protection from untimely death. This offering should be done Tulsi or any other sacred tree. On the second day it is called Narak Chaturdasi, on this day Lord Krishna destroyed the demon Narakasur and made the world free from fear. One should massage the body with oil to relive it of tiredness, bathe so that Diwali can be celebrated with vigour and devotion On the third day, it is the day when worship unto Mother Lakshmi is performed, Hindus cleanse themselves with their families. And they worship Goddess Lakshmi to achieve the blessings of wealth and prosperity On the fourth day, Govardhan Pooja is performed. Thousands of years ago Lord Krishna caused people to perform Govardhan Pooja. On the fifth day of Diwali it is called Bhai teeka. This day marks the end of five days Diwali celebration. This is also known as Bhai fota among Bengalis. Bhai fota is an event especially among Bengalis when the sister prays for her brother's safety, success and well being “ We will also have to light our homes with clay lamps, open our windows and doors to welcome in Lakshmi” “ Who is Lakshmi” Asked Aarna “ Lakshmi is a Hindu Goddess of wealth, prosperity, light, wisdom, fortune, fertility, generosity and courage, we open windows doors and light lamps to invite her into our home. We also will have fireworks and crackers going everywhere! Explained the mother “Will our father be working during the celebration of Diwali?” asked Akshi “Yes, he has to work throughout this holiday because we need money, but he will try to come home as soon as possible."(i was going to continue here that while the holiday is coming the mother will teach her kids make posters for the holiday, like how to write and read bc it is supposed to be for my story)

  couple of things: 1. please change the boys name cause it's really a girls name. how about the name Arnav or Ahaan? 2.when I think of Diwali I think the biggest reason given to celebrate the festival is that Load Ram came back Ayodhya after 14 years of exile and they lit up the whole city to welcome him back hence its known as the festival of lights 3. just remember Goddess Lakshmi is associated with money so by inviting and giving respect to Lakshmi you are inviting money
