Where is the power steering in 2006 pontiac g6?

My 2006 Pontiac G6 power steering help?

  • So my Car has a little under 100k miles and is a 2006 Pontiac GTP G6, the power steering is Whining and has a small leak under the power steering on the passengers side, It cost $133.06 at my dealership to have the WHOLE power steering pump replaced. Should i just have it replaced? My power steering still works it just is whining and leaking.

    Is it the rack or the pump leaking, if the rack is leaking then that's what needs replaced not the pump. But if this had gone on to long then both will need replaced. If you don't do anything the worst that will happen is you'll lose the power steering and if you have ever driven a car without you'll know it right away.
