    There is some call for clerical/admin support in the mines. Not really a lot and its very much personal recommendation and knowledge that will get you in. As a starter, go to the ESS/Compass (site support company) website and start with cleaning, kitchen, bar work etc . At least then you are there when anything with the mine itself comes up. Its not a bad life though in site support. Don't forget that you will probably be on 2 weeks on & 1 off, plus the 12 hour days that we all do. Similarly, send your CV to the mining companies and register with something like Seek.

I guess the obvious ones would be computer skills , especially in Word & Excell & maybe experience in payroll & general office duties.
