Why doesn't Medicaid cover Dental?

Need help. I have medicaid and...?

  • I have medicaid for my son and my pregnancy because we didnt have insurance before we found out I was pregnant and after I found out, we called around to get insurance that covered maternity and no one would cover us because I was already pregnant! stupid right? so I had to wait 2 months to even go to the doctor while stupid medicaid processed our application and FINALLY accepted it. now that my son is almost here, and after the 6 weeks that medicaid covers after he is born, I want to get health insurance that covers maternity for our next baby. can anyone please help me find insurance that covers it??? I cant find any good, not too expensive ones. we live in FL. I really just want to get off medicaid and need health insurance for my family that doesnt have a horrific deductible or anything. thanks!

If you meet finical requirements you and your baby can still stay on Medicaid. My nephew and sister are on Medicaid and have been since before the baby was born.

That's not stupid, a lot of people get rejected the first time, although I thought Medicaid was more for people who have a disease/disability. I don't know, our family has a history of disease, so I could probably get on it, but a normal healthy baby, is different and it may be harder to get insurance for them. There is something called wic that helps w/ food, and you could go to your local Department of Human Services office and ask for help. There is Gerber Life Insurance, but I don't really get what kind of insurance that is, and what it covers. You have to be careful and do your research.
