DVI cable and bad image quality on my monitor?
-
I've just gotten my new HDMI to DVI cable to connect from my monitor to my graphics card (I used a vga to vga before that), but when I've connected, the quality is awful, and the image size does not fit the full screen. I went to change resolution, it was on 1920 x 1080 (recommended), and I lowered it down to 1776 x 1000, the image quality improved dramatically, but the screen still stayed somewhat smaller (around 20 inch on my 22 inch monitor). All the other lower options fitted on my full screen, but the image quality was not good. What do I have to do to make it work on 1920 x 1080 with good image quality and full screen? By the way my monitor is sa300h samsung and the video card is amd radeon 6670 ddr5 is that gives any more help

Answer:
there are a few possibilities here, make sure you have the latest drivers for your VGA card, this will allow more variations in the possible resolutions. Open the Display options and you should the monitor listed by name, look for the option to display what resolutions are available, you will find this in the Advanced option and then a button called List all Modes. This displays what the valid resolutions available are, if your Monitors natural resolution is not listed then it will not display at what you want, your only option then is to change the card, but most screen sizes are applicable in the latest driver updates.

You need to match the native resolution of the monitor.
