Is there a way of going to college for free?

Is it worth going to college if I need student loans to pay for school and with the economy the way it is?

  • Answer:

Figure it out. What salary can you expect to earn without the education? What salary can you reasonably expect to earn WITH the degree? (Grants should not have to be repaid, BTW.) Now, how much of the increased salary will be devoted to paying back the 42,000 at the expected interest rate?

Yes, it's worth it. Grants don't have to be repaid but loans do. Student loans cannot be discharged in bankruptcy, so be sure you understand that before you get that far in debt. But is a degree in CS worth $42,000? Absolutely
