What is the cheapest and safest postal service in China?

Why is the Chinese / China Mail / Postal Service so slow?

  • Airmail from Hong Kong and Japan takes 7-14 days to arrive in Europe. However, China airmail can take up to 30 days. Why is this? Is it because China airmail is actually like SAL mail which you get in Japan? (SAL is a mail option between airmail and surface in cost and time - this is a service where international mail is handled as surface mail in both Japan and the destination country and as airmail between the two countries. If there is excess capacity then it just goes air domestically.) I don't think it has anything to do with it being a big country. The infrastructure is in place in China and the items i get shipped are invariably from Fujian, Guangdong or Shanghai. All the stuff i get from the USA arrives in 7-14 days mostly. I'm talking about airmail and comparing it with the airmail of other countries too. Really just wondering if they have some cost cutting measures which is making it slow.

    Are you sure about this? I currently live in Australia & I have a lot of friends in France. Normally it takes 7 days for a package to be delivered from China to France/Australia. Probably you should check what kind of service you are using as speed varies. Usually it's EMS. And did you provide an accurate address?

Are you sure about this? I currently live in Australia & I have a lot of friends in France. Normally it takes 7 days for a package to be delivered from China to France/Australia. Probably you should check what kind of service you are using as speed varies. Usually it's EMS. And did you provide an accurate address?

One of the reasons is a lot (most, a little, whatever??) of their mail may be inspected. Keep in mind they have a Communist government and therefore they want to control. Besides that they tend to be paranoid so it slows many things down.
