How hard is it to find an old 1950's Schwinn bike? ?

  • Answer:

Go to the local bike shops and look around. Tell them where you want to ride and why. An old 50's Schwinn bike is going to weigh a ton. Shop bikes are lite and efficient and a blast to ride.

It's not hard at all to find a 50's Schwinn and I know people who own them, the usual places now to find them are Craigslist, Ebay, Ebay's kijiji classifieds and bicycle forums like The Classic and Antique Bicycle Exchange, Ratrodbikes, Old Roads & the Schwinn Bikes Forum. http://thecabe.com/vbulletin/content.php http://www.ratrodbikes.com/ http://oldroads.com/ http://www.schwinnbikeforum.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=a3e9c383f688a57d009ceea023c97fb4;www But there are still bike shops that sell higher quality Schwinn's too you just need to use your zip code on their official site. http://www.schwinnbikes.com/ If it is a model with a tank or a springer fork it's not too bad of a price for $600 but there are many below that price as well so can look around for the best deal.

You could get a great bike for a lot less at a co-op http://communitycycles.org/links/bike-collectives.html .Expect to spend $50-$200 for a used bike.Bring someone who knows a bit about bikes along when you go to buy one anywhere. The Schwinn you're talking about is more a collector's item than an eveyday bike.

It's not all that hard to find a 50's Schwinn. Check out Craigslist. It doesn't matter what it weighs unless you're planning on carrying it instead of riding it.

i would not pay 600 for an old bike there are plenty of modern bikes WAY better than that go to a bike store with your 600 dollars not walmart wle
