Why do people go out?

Why don't people from small towns venture out and go to different places to meet people?

  • I never understood this. When we were growing up, we would hop on the train and head to the city. We grew up in the suburbs. These kids from these small towns that only live like 50 or 60 miles outside of a big city, they just stay in their little town and hang with people that live there. What a shame that is. I mean why would you want to close your world off to so many great people, and limit yourself to only knowing people that grow up in the same town that you do? I don't understand it. Why are these small town people so much different than the people I grew up around who lived in the burbs?

    Matter of opinion. Who says big city neighborhood gangs are the best ones to hang around with? I was raised in a small town, sometimes lived on farms, ranches. Then I went to the City. Kansas City, St. Louis, and lived there awhile. Never got "close" to anyone. Missed the green grass and trees of home, so went back often. People there were much more friendly and helpful. You can keep your 'concrete jungle'. It is just a matter of opinion. Good luck.

Matter of opinion. Who says big city neighborhood gangs are the best ones to hang around with? I was raised in a small town, sometimes lived on farms, ranches. Then I went to the City. Kansas City, St. Louis, and lived there awhile. Never got "close" to anyone. Missed the green grass and trees of home, so went back often. People there were much more friendly and helpful. I was gonna ask the same thing..lol I dont get it. I think people get confortable? Or maybe they are afraid to uproot? Money? Maybe they have a sence of responsibility to their parents? They say they hate it and wanna move but never do so idk. All I know is I come back home to visit and they are the same as when i left lastime, more junk. But the same!! I think its a shame their is so much to see and to experiance. Their pissing their life away. Theyll figure it out one day thats why they make motor homes.lol

Maybe they are content where they are and have no desire to venture out of their current environment. The world is made up of all kinds of people and not every one is adventerous. I was born and raised in major cities and I would never go back to one. I like the big city amenities, but I no longer want to deal with big city crime. You can have it!
