Graduation Sleepover?

My mum won't let me have a sleepover for my 16th!?

  • I'm turning 16 next week and my mum at first said yeah i could have a sleepover! For my 15th i had all my friends round at my house and she's fine with me doing that but she's not letting me have a sleepover now! There would be 12 of us and it's so much fun when we all have a sleepover! I've been to 5 parties where we all stayed over and it's so much fun! It's boring with only a couple of people! Now because she said i could i told them a few weeks ago i was having a sleepover and now they're all gonna be disappointed as it was gonna be our monthly thing where we all go out together! I really wanted a sleepover! So how can i persuade her!? She's trying to make me go to a karioke place or stuff like that and i really don't want to! I want a night party, a sleepover with a few take away pizza's, the wii and stuff! Ah she keeps giving me into trouble as well and i don't know why she's changed her mind! So how do i persuade her? Bonus: i want the guy i like to come and he always jokes saying he's going to turn up at parties and i kinda hope he does as he forgets otherwise he would but my mum i know for a fact would not leave the house and would constantly hover around so how could i get him to be there and stuff? My other friends have guys there but my mum says the girls i am inviting is a big enough number so i don't dare ask her! P.S all these girls are my close friends and i would be seen as the group b*tch if i only invited a few as we all hang out together!

It seems like kids these days just don't want to honor and obey their parents becuase they are so wrapped up in what they want. It's about me, me, me and not about considering the REASONS why your parents may say no to things. You will not always get everything you want in life and if you really expect to get everything you want, you will have a hard life. 12 people is an awful lot of people under one roof and even if it is just a day, still, your mother does not accept. And just becuase she let you have a sleep over last year does not necessarily mean she should let you have it every year after that. Things change, moods change, circumstances change. Be considerate, thankful and grateful that your mother is letting you do other fun things.

Simple solution. Don't invite a boy. Don't invite 12 people, only like 2 is enough. I'm sure your mom would allow 2. And yeah, your kind of spoiled because when I have sleepovers its usually only 1 person max. It is fun with 2 people if you have the right THINGS to do.

it's a hard life being a 16 year old isn't it. consider how much this is going to cost for your mother, the hassle involved and the amount of people that are going to be in the house. a couple of people maybe, but 12? that's an awful lot. at the end of the day it's not your houses, you don't pay the bills so it's up to what your mum says.
