My chances of transferring from Gettysburg College to another college?
-
I'm a high school senior, and my first picks for colleges were BC and BU. Unfortunately, I didn't get into any of these schools, but I recently got into Gettysburg College. I have a list of competitive schools that I want to transfer to after a year or two, and I was wondering what my chances could be to be accepted as a transfer student. Assuming that I get good grades, what are my chances for the following schools? Boston College Boston University University of Notre Dame Tufts I understand that these are very competitive schools (and out of all of them, I only applied to BC and BU.) My family life was kind of bad since I was little, and even though it cleared up a lot by my sophomore year of HS, I still think that my record at HS is not a perfect reflection of my potential. I think that my chances at transferring to a more competitive school will be better if I have more time to prove myself, but I don't know for sure. There are some other colleges that I'm considering transferring to, but for now I just want some advice. Gettysburg is a fine school and all, but I might as well try moving up the ladder when I can. Another thing to consider is that Gettysburg is a smaller, less known school than what I'd like to transfer to, so how will that impact my chances? I want to move on to law school once I graduate a 4-year college, so will this transfer have any impact on that goal down the road? I might as well be prepared. If anyone answering this has any advice or personal experience with transferring colleges, I'd like to hear it. Thanks in advance for the help.

A 4.0 GPA at Gettysburg will be more helpful for law school admission than lower grades from a better known college.
