Are there any ways to semi-permanently make your lips more smooth and healthier looking other than lip balm?
-
If I go without using chap stick or lip balm, my lips will be averagely smooth but not great. If I use either of these and then miss using it one or two days, my lips get terribly chapped and dry. I'm wondering if there is maybe something I could add to my diet or take as supplements that helps keep your lips at a constant and healthy condition. Thanks!

Answer:
staying hydrated will help your lips. if you are dehydrated or not hydrated enough your lips will tell you. also you could try a sugar lip scrub, sugar will exfoliate all the dry and dead skin away, (it really works i use it every once in a while when my lips get icky) Preparing a sugar scrub for your lips is easy. Simply combine 1 tsp. of olive oil with 1 tsp. of white granulated sugar or brown sugar, and combine well until the mixture has the texture of coarse sand. Apply the mixture to your lips, gently rubbing the sugar to remove any flakes of skin. If you'd prefer, you can use a toothbrush to massage in the lip scrub. Rinse with warm water and apply a lip moisturizer immediately to keep your lips from drying out. Coffee Lip Scrub works too! Coarsely ground coffee is another natural exfoliant that can be used in a recipe similar to the sugar scrub. This coffee scrub, however, is more gentle on the lips. Combine 1 tbsp. of olive oil with 1 tbsp. of coffee. (You may also add a little white sugar to this scrub for additional exfoliation.) Mix the ingredients well, and then massage the scrub onto your lips. Keep the scrub on for an additional five minutes before rinsing and applying lip moisturizer. Don't overuse a lip exfoliant. Using lip scrubs too often can exacerbate the problem and result in painful, cracked lips. Apply the scrub once a week, and use lip moisturizer the rest of the time. i hope this helps and good luck!!!

Drinking lots of water might help since it hidrates your skin (including lip skin) and if you lick your lips at all, stop, because saliva will actually dry them out really fast.
scrub your lips with a tooth brush and sugar. then apply vasaline or something.
i defiantly recommend a lip scrub. it removes all the dead skin cells and keeps my lips smooth for days! you can get them at lush.co.uk or you can make them yourself by mixing sugar and oil :) also drink plenty of water to keep you hydrated! x
