How can I open binary files, that are email attachments?

I received an email with two attachments but the files are are "et." files. Can't open these on my PC!?

A free office program uses that .et file extension for a spread sheet. Your friend might have Kingsoft free office suite. Ask your friend if that is what they sent, a document using Kingsoft. If so your friend might have the option to save as and choose a file format that you can view with your software.
