Which college is easier to get into?

Is it easier to get an NROTC Marine Option scholarship if you have already completed one year of college?

  • Lets say I go to a state school for a year after high school. My high school grades were not perfect (a 3.3 average between my freshmen and junior years, but a 4.0 average in my senior year), but if I applied to receive a scholarship for my sophomore year would it be easier for me (being that I would already have a year of general ed and college experience)? My SAT total combined score was a 1930 I plan to continue receiving good grades in college My physical scores are currently a little below competitive: 15 Pull-ups, 80 sit-ups, 22 minute 3-mile; but I plan to improve them to be either competitive or above competitive by the end of the summer. Two additional notes: I have already applied for a NROTC marine option scholarship, but because of poor physical scores and my freshmen-junior year grades I did not recieve it. I also would be transferring out of my freshman year college to a new college with a marine option NROTC program. Summary of questions: Will it be easier for me to apply for a NROTC Marine Option scholarship if I include my senior year grades and my year in college? and When should I apply for the scholarship?
