How crazy is it that I want to move to Los Angeles and become a freelancer in film/TV production?

I am ending my junior year of college in Media Production. After I graduate, I plan to move to Los Angeles (from NY/NJ metropolitan area) and freelance in film and TV production. Any tips? advice? opinions? Be nice though; no dream crushers. I will pursue this career choice no matter what anyone says, because it is my main goal in life. Thanks :)
