Who is Drocell from Kuroshitsuji and what does he do?

Kuroshitsuji and Bartimaeus Trilogy (Amulet of Samarkand, Golem's Eye, Ptolemy's Gate)?

  • Don't answer if you only know one of them. Don't you think these two stories are two similar? I mean, I read the whole Trilogy about 2 years ago and recently finished the 1st season of Kuroshitsuji, and while watching it I couldn't shake off the feeling that it looks too familiar. So far the similarities I noticed: - 12 year old boy (Nathaniel=Ciel) - A demon is summoned (Bartimaeus=Sebastian) - Both of their parents are dead - They both seek revenge and their personalities are alike - Their both ending is in one or another way the same - The feeling that these both stories perceive is too similar Please note the years when they were released: - Bartimaeus Trilogy (2003-2005) - Kuroshitsuji Manga (2006 - up to now) What is your opinion of this? Could this be plagiarism? Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that it is, Kuroshitsuji is a very good anime, but... I can't stand it when there are too many similarities.

  • Answer:

Have read the trilogy and seen the anime but I don't think there's really that much similarities between them. Sure one of main character is same age but the whole relationship between "master and his slave" is very different. The plot development is VERY different in these and even the ending is nowhere the same. I don't feel the same way as you so imo this is no where near the concept of plagiarism.
