When should I add (accept) youtube contacts?

  • My youtube account inbox is constantly getting bombarded with "contact" requests. I've never heard of any of these youtubers, so I'm not interested in contacting them. I read up on how youtube replaced the youtube "friend" thing, so I know that difference. But I'm curious: why and when I should add someone as a contact? I would like someone to explain what the benefits of this "contact" feature are? if any? If you have lots of contacts does that mean more people see your videos? or does it mean you are just going to get an inbox constantly crammed full of status updates from all of my contacts? I've had a youtube account for over a year now but I never really looked into how to manage all this stuff and my inbox is getting ridiculous. Thanks

    It is good to have friends or "contacts" it makes your icon appear on there "contact" listings and makes you more popular because other people see the it and then go to your page. And they aren't usually for literal contacting unless you actually know the person.

just highlight all of them deselect the ones you dont mind, and block them if its bothering you, however im not sure if theres anyway of stopping Future requests from other users
