The minimum requirements for medical school are as follows: 90 credit hours, consisting of at least 8 hours of Biology (w/lab), 8 hours of General Chemistry (w/lab), 8 hours of Organic Chemistry (w/lab) and 8 hours of Physics (w/lab) MCAT scores However, you are placing yourself at a disadvantage if you don't complete a Bachelor's degree or if refuse to take Biochemistry, Calculus, Genetics, Psychology or English. Actually, it might be better to become a Biology or Chemistry major with all the "recommended" courses. If you are getting a D.O., the average GPA of those admitted is a 3.46 and the average MCAT score is a 24.6. If you are getting a M.D., the average GPA of those admitted is a 3.64 and the average MCAT score is a 30.4. How long will it take? -College (ideally 4 years) -Medical School (ideally 3 years) -Internship (1 year) -Residency (3 years) -Licensing through the state in which you desire to practice medicine Average Salary of a Pediatrician (in the U.S.): $165,720 per year Cost: Depends on where you go to college and medical school, but a whole lot of money. Expect to take out a lot of student loans. However, you can get your loans "forgiven" by the federal government if you agree to work somewhere where the gov't has determined to be an area in need of doctors (generally in poorer regions of the U.S., and that will effect your salary).

It will take 4 years of high school, 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school where you get the degree but have not practiced, Then you have residency training where you work as a doctor supervised by another doctor which takes around 3-5 years depending then you can practice as a doctor but if you want to specialize in something it will take another 1-2 years or so. You need to have really high grades and it is VERY expensive. Usually doctors make A LOT of money (the more schooling the more money you make) but with the new healthcare bill, you might not make as much as you would have 10-20 years ago and you will have massive college and med school debt to pay off (you might be able to get free rides with scholarships though)
