TIme Warner Internet HELP?

Time Warner Cable Internet Issues?

  • So at my house we have Time Warner Cable, and while i was on vacation my mom added paid Time Warner Cable for a new cable box so we could get more than just the basic cable channels on one of our TVs. Before i had left on my trip i could easily stream the internet, watch videos, and play online games without any trouble on my computer. As soon as i got back home I would try to watch videos and buffering would be a problem, i would lose connection in the games on my computer and it takes longer for sites to load. I doubt its my computer because i have a New Mac Book Pro and i don't download anything on it or do anything to harm it. Also when i play online games my FPS is still perfect, the only problem is that i keep lagging out (losing connection). When my mom called Time Warner Cable and asked, "Could it be that we need another Wireless Router?", they said " No, that shouldn't be a problem". So I don't understand how now i can't play any games without lagging out or load pages as fast as before, and watch movies without buffering. Please help! I need to know what is wrong so i can go back to the way things were before on my brand new mac book pro.

Your problem isn't the Wireless Router, but it may be the ISP. or it may be the sites you're using. Or it may be something else. Your online games FPS is irrelevant, the FPS is driven by your computer. What's the result of the latency that is what matters.

The TV signal is unrelated to internet To see if it is your router, connect one computer directly to the modem and try it that way for a "VERY" short time. Running it this way is known as surfing naked and is dangerous. If the problem goes away, it is the router. IF so, unbend a paper clip and push the reset button while powered and reconfigure the router. If it persist, then content TWC and get booted to level 2 support.
