How to Connect to a VPN in iOS Swift?

Unable to connect to VPN using a certain wireless gateway?

  • I am based abroad but have a VPN set up so I can connect to sites like BBC iplayer back in the UK. I can connect to this VPN on my laptop no probs through most networks at my various offices, but one particular wireless gateway (the one I have at home!) will not allow me to connect to my VPN. I know the VPN is not the problem because I can connect to it using other wireless gateways. However when using this particular wireless gateway the process always gets stuck at the 'Verifying user name and password' stage. Strangely, my friend can connect to his VPN (a different VPN) using his ipad through this gateway with no problems. I am thinking it has something to do with the firewall settings on this wireless gateway but when I go to the admin page for the router there are a lot of settings which I do not understand so do not want to go changing them all in case it messes it up. Can anyone suggest what needs changing to allow me to make a connection to my VPN? Thanks guys!

    You are probably correct, a setting in the wireless access point firewall could be the culprit. Since you didn't state your particular product here is a general direction. Check the settings looking for things with the name VPN, IPsec, or PPTP. Make sure they are all enabled. Good Luck
