When would a resume be needed for a basic job?

I'm talking about a job not a career, just something simple like working at a store or restaurant etc. I don't really have any relatable work experience-or much experience for that matter- so would it be better not to include a resume even though it might help me to stand out? there are other ways to go about resume writing such as focusing on skills etc so i was wondering what i should do. share some knowledge if you will. :)

Some places only want you to fill out an application while others want a resume. It really depends on the place. You might have to take a lower paying job to get some experience then you will have something to put on your resume.

In this day and age, application to a "basic job" could be helped with having a resume. It will set you apart from those that didn't submit one, at the very least.
