How to make a demo for video game?

If I wanted to make a demo for a video game...?

    Dont even think about making a demo until you know how to program and have a solid idea and layout of what you wanna do. Usually demos are made after the full game is made, demos are just released to help promote the game and give developers more time to finish up the full game. So anyway I suggest you learn C++ which is the language many game companies use to make their games. So once you learn how to program then move onto making the game. Assuming you have no experience in programming and that the game is relatively small I'd say about a year maybe more. Assuming you do have a lot of programming knowledge I would say maybe 6 months. Its a long hard process that is very difficult so take your time on making it. On to the materials you would need this if you decide to use C++: 1. Visual Studio C++ 2010 2. DirectX / Opengl (google them they are api's for making games) 3. A lot of time and patience (This is most important of all to have)
