Can a female cat go into heat while pregnant?

How old does a female cat go in heat?

  • Answer:

Female kittens CAN go into their first heat at FOUR ( 4 ) MONTHS........and that's WAY TOO YOUNG to SAFELY get pregnant & carry a litter. For the sake of your kitten's HEALTH, go ahead and have your male neutered NOW, before he starts to spray ( could happen any time ).......and get your little girl spayed in a couple of months. Then, BOTH of your kittens will live long, healthy, HAPPY lives......without their HORMONES driving them.....AND YOU......crazy! Also, by getting them both spayed & neutered early, you assure them of a LOWER RISK of developing CANCER of the mammary ( breast ) glands, uterus, and testicles........in the future! Hope this helps........Good luck........

Depends on the cat usually anywhere between six months to a yr but having a male thats not fixed could cause problems if she goes in heat or not you should get her fixed while shes young. I have a male cat thats 8 and a female that is 5 and he just recently tried mounting het and ive had her for almost three yrs. The male has been fixed very young and ive never seen a fixed male try and mount another cat so anything is possible i have come to find out

16 weeks for both sexes. Females can go into heat at 16 weeks, and males are sexually mature at 16 weeks. They should be spay/neutered at 12 weeks. Unfixed males have no bearing on heat. SPAY YOUR CATS. There are millions of cats living ferally out of garbage cans and being put down every day in shelters because there's no more room for them... Because PEOPLE allow them to breed willy nilly for no reason!!
