How Do You Read Acm Books Online?

Good teen or adult books for a girl to read?

  • So I'm a sixteen-almost seventeen-year old girl and I'm looking for some new books to read over spring break. I would prefer an action/adventure book with a strong female main character (doesn't necessarily have to be THE main character but one of them). Examples of strong ones would be Cammie from the Gallagher Girls, Katniss from HG, Hermione from HP, etc. Romance books are good too but action/adventure is preferred, and action WITH romance is even better! Also I don't want any werewolves, vampires, fairies, etc. just NO (and I know I read some in the list below but I'm over that phase, and I'm just annoyed with them now, so please, please don't suggest anything like those) Here's what I've already read (though I'll probably forget some in the list) and you can assume if I read one of the books in the series then yes, I read them all:: Twilight Saga Harry Potter Series Maximum Ride Series Warriors Series by Erin Hunter Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare Evernight by Claudia Gray (I believe that's her name) Evermore by Alyson Noel (Not sure on the name there either) All books by Sarah Dessen Perfect Chemistry by Simone Eckles Two Way Street by Lauren Barnholdt One Night That Changes Everything by Lauren Barnholdt Watch me by Lauren Barnholdt When It Happens by Suzanne Colasanti Gone by Michael Grant The Uglies by Scott Westerfield All books by Jodi Picoult The Hunger Games by Susane Collins Pendragon Series The Host by Stephenie Meyer Need by Carrie Jones The Boyfriend List How To Be Bad by...a combination of a few authors Ttyl series by Lauren Myracle Bass Ackwards and Belly up (and the sequel) Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead Shopaholic Series by Sophie Kinsella Gallagher Girls Series by Ally Carter Heist Society by Ally Carter Inkheart Series Percy Jackson Series The Bridesmaid by Haily Abbott Linger and Shiver by Maggie...Some weird Last Name I Am Number Four by Pittacus Lore (which is a penname for two authors whose names I'm not clear on) The Book Thief Aubrey Wait (or maybe it's Audrey...no clue) The Alphabetical Hook-Up List Oh. My. Gods The Kitchen Boy (can't remember who by, but it's about the Romanovs) Books I absolutely don't want to read:: Classics of any kind (I know some of you say oh it's great though, but to me they really aren't anything special or entertaining) Eragon series Meg Cabot books

I've read some of the books on your list, so hopefully these recommendations will help. The Seven Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima (The Demon King, The Exiled Queen, The Gray Wolf Throne, The Crimson Crown.) Year of Secret Assignments by Jaclyn Moriarty Feeling Sorry for Celia by Jaclyn Moriarty Let It Snow by John Green, Lauren Myracle and Maureen Johnson Cinder by Marissa Meyer Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley The Once and Future King by T.H. White The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, The Second Summer of the Sisterhood, Girls In Pants, Forever In Blue, Sisterhood Everlasting.) The Gemma Doyle Trilogy by Libba Bray (A Great and Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels, The Sweet Far Thing.) The Nikki Heat series by Richard Castle (Heat Wave, Naked Heat, Heat Rises, Frozen Heat.) [The books are a tie-in to the TV show Castle, but you don't need to know anything about the show to enjoy the books.) The Stone Rose by Jacqueline Rayner (a tie-in to Doctor Who, but once again, you don't need to know the TV show to enjoy the book.) Any book by John Green (He's written Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns, An Abundance of Katherines, and The Fault In Our Stars. The ones I've read are amazing, the ones I haven't read I've heard are amazing.) I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith The Books of Bayern by Shannon Hale (The Goose Girl, Enna Burning, River Secrets, Forest Born.) The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger Amazing Grace by Megan Shull The Magic in Manhattan series by Sarah Mlynowski (Bras and Broomsticks, Frogs and French Kisses, Spells and Sleeping Bags, Parties and Potions.) The Earthsea books by Ursula K. LeGuin (A Wizard of Earthsea, The Tombs of Atuan, The Farthest Shore, Tehanu.) Lavinina by Ursula K. LeGuin The Young Wizards series by Diane Duane (So You Want To Be A Wizard, Deep Wizardry, High Wizardry, A Wizard Abroad, A Wizard's Dilemma, A Wizard Alone, A Wizard's Holiday, Wizard's at War, A Wizard of Mars.) And finally, I know you said no classics, but I have to recommend Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. If you've given it a try and don't like it, totally fine, but if you haven't, I highly recommend giving it a try, even if you don't like classics in general. I've read several classics, and while I enjoy them, I can see how they might not appeal to people. However, Pride and Prejudice is a really amazing book, and doesn't seem like 'a classic' to me, in the way that others do. Regardless of Pride and Prejudice, hopefully the other book recommendations will help.

His books aren't in your preferred genre but are you aware of John Green? e.g. Looking for Alaska, an Abundance of Katherines, Paper Towns. He's one of the best young adult fiction writers out there. He's a youtube star too.

Maybe try the Septimus Heap books? They are fantasy. The first one is called Magyk. The female leads are Marcia Overstrand, ExtraOrdinay Wizard, and Jenna Heap, the missing descendent of the dead queen.
