Where can a high school student find internships?

Answer:
Ignore the other answer, it's very antiquated. Internships are ABSOLUTELY critical in getting a job. If you want to work in finance for example, retail experience and owning a car have no bearing on getting hired. Many internships are only open to college students because they possess a higher skill set and can often receive college credit. Unpaid, uncredited internships are illegal under labor laws. If you're lucky, you can find a paid internship--I've only ever interned for money. It's definitely do-able. When you get to college, career services at your school will connect you with businesses and employers. I commend you on recognizing the importance of interning early.

fvck that, let me give you solid advice. save all your money and buy a toyota ---something----, it will be a massive advantage to own your car. work 1 hour each day at a minimum wage job at a retail store like kohls, target, walmart, w/e. work an additional hour a day at a min wage job at a restaurant like chevys, chilis, etc. total, 2 hours worked each day. all together, with a college graduation, a vehicle owned in full, no debts, and 4+ years experience in both retail and restaurants, there wont be a job you cant get. dont bother with internships, always work for money. and work for big money too, never settle for the small stuff.
