The media really focus on Jews in this topic. They are trying to make people believe that 6 million Jews died in holocaust. The first question to be answered is what holocaust really is. Holocaust is marketed as a pile of inconsistent stories making people believe only Jews died during WWII. The fact is that Jews were minor group of causalities. The number of Jews did not dramatically decrease during this period and many who fled Europe to the Southern hemisphere were proclaimed dead and are counted in that mysterious 6 million. According to Jewish Almanac, there were roughly 15 million Jews before and after WWII. We can go deeper here to understand who really Jews are. Today's Jews are Russian immigrants who have nothing to do with biblical Jews. So back to the question, you should be asking about how many people died in WWII. Search for that number and don't let you brain to be washed by propaganda that these were only Jews and don't believe nonsense Holocaust propaganda is trying to make you believe. E.g. there were about 10 million dead of Slavic origin who mostly, like Jews, died of consequences of the war and that was malnutrition and typhus. Forget stories about gas chambers and similar BS.
