Can I get lingual braces on the NHS?

Can I get braces on the NHS for congenital missing teeth?

  • I am 16 years old and only have 26 teeth, 12 on the upper half and 14 on the lower. The dentist have told me I have two congenital missing teeth which are the teeth next to my two front teeth. Due to the missing teeth, I have a about 5 small gaps between my teeth. The gaps next to my front teeth are not big enough to fit in a bridge or implant. Would it be possible to get braces for free on the NHS with my case as I know there is a stupid rating system.

  • Answer:

ask your dentist to be referred to the ortho he could tell you anything about this, but i think it would be possible to get braces off the nhs, i got mine off the nhs and they were nearly perfectly stright but i have an overbite,if the nhs do decline your request you can ask about appealing, which means they have to look over it again in closer detail and there is a better chance of you getting them, i think you would get them though (:
