Does having a degree from a certain college within a university matter for future jobs?

I will be attending Cal Poly Pomona next year for fall 2012. I am going in as Computer Science which is in the College of Science. Now CPP is know for their engineering department which has a reputation for having good job placement. Due to the fact that Computer Science is not technically in the engineering department will this affect any future jobs I try to get is my main question.

Possibly, but some of the college of engineering's prestige, and the reputation it gives to Cal Poly Pomona, will rub on your degree. It will mostly depend on your GPA and your accomplishments as a student (leadership, campus involvement, senior project, work experience, etc).
