Aggressive Mini Lop Rabbit?

Do i need a two story home for a mini lop rabbit?

  • Answer:

If you're looking at pet stores, they don't have cages that are large enough for rabbits. Rabbits need a lot of space to move around when in their cage. You don't necessarily need two floors, but a C&C cage will be much better and cheaper than any small store bought cage.

Rabbits need to be inside, not outside because they can get very sick. I have my rabbit in my room. His cage is a 5 ft by 5 ft piece of linoleum and a 4 ft by 4 ft exercise pen on top of it. Then you put down towels inside the cage, a water bowl, a food bowl, a litter box, and something to chew. Bunnies have a very specific feeding schedule: Feed it about two cups of vegetables twice a day. Feed your bunny a combination of at least 5 or 6 vegetables: -italian (flat leaf) parsley -cilantro -basil -mint -dill -endive -escarole -chard -baby bok choy -romaine; red and green leafy lettuce (if other greens not available) -carrot tops In Moderation: -broccoli (very small piece about once every two days) -carrot (very small piece about once a day, 1-2 inches) -kale (few pieces mixed with other greens) Here is a very specific feeding schedual: Morning- -1/4 cup of high-quality timothy hay pellet like OXBOW Bunny Basics/T -2 cups of veggies -fresh oat, timothy, and/or grass hay in litter box Dinner- -2 cups of veggies Important!: DO NOT FEED ALFALFA HAY whch causes bloat and can harbor parasitic fungi that produce deadly mycotoxins. DO NOT FEED: -bread of any kind -seeds or nuts -yogurt drops -pellet products (like Kaytee Fiesta Max) which contain dried fruits, seeds, and nuts. NEVER FEED THESE VEGETABLES: -avacado -beans of any kind -brussels sprouts -cabbage -cauliflower -corn in any form -garlic -iceburg lettuce -onions -peas -potatoes -spinach For nails call a vet and they can tell you, because I am not sure. NEVER give your bunny a bath. It will cause it to have a lot of stress which can kill your bunny! I swear it's true. Hope this helps!

it depends how much time it is going to spend in the cage. I have a mini lionhead rabbit (which are about the same size as mini lop's) and she lives in a one floor cage, but i take her out for a few hours every day. If you are quite busy and don't have time to take the rabbit out, then i would recommend getting a nice big cage.

Well you really don't need a two story home but it is good to have something off the ground so nothing can get to them expect the owner. If your putting it inside i would get a one story home. As long as it has a nice and stable home i think it should be fine.
