How can I get rid of spot scars on my face?

Any reccomended face washes/spot zapper gels for acne?!?

  • I'm 13 and I have had acne for a couple of years now. I've tried many products such as Neutrogena, Freederm, and Simple and none have really seemed to help, the skincare products I've used are very mild and usually take weeks to reduce acne just a little bit! At the moment, these are the products I have: 1) Simple spotless skin triple action face wash - this makes my skin feel soft and fresh, but then it irritates my skin because it contains exfoiliating beads. The acne looks alot worse and I don't know whether I want to continue with it! 2) Freederm sensitive skin face wash - I think this is slightly more gentle than the simple, it hasn't made the skin worse, but I used it for a good couple of weeks and saw no change in my skin. 3) Simple deep cleansing face mask - This has done a pretty good job, and I did see obvious results soon after I had used it, but I don't want to have to rely on a product which I should only use twice a week - I often get spots and breakouts inbetween. 4) Clearasil ultra rapid action treatment cream - I don't think this is very strong, and it hasn't improved my skin that much, however I've been using this for about a week, and I think the redness has calmed down. But I don't know whether that is down to the clearasil or not, since I have been using the face mask for the same amount of time. Freederm fast track spot gel - This made a significant difference to my skin within the first few days of using it, but after a while, it stopped working, like my skin had become resistant to it. Clean & Clear advantage treatment gel - I have only had this a day, but it looks like it has made my spots worse. Seems very harsh on skin. I also use a skin therapy cleanser and tesco toner. The makeup I have is Witch anti blemish tinted moisturiser, which is oil free and seems to dry out my skin and looks horrible. I also have some Nivea visage tinted moisturising day cream, but that has oil in it and I'm worried it could be blocking my pores. As well as spots, I have alot of blemishes, especially on my right cheek. I'm guessing they are scars - I do not pick my spots, or very rarely do, so I'm guessing this is the result of not getting my spots sorted out. My mum doesn't really see why I have such a problem with spots and my sister doesn't get them so badly, so they don't really pay attention and it's left to me to sort out my skin myself. I'm going a wedding in about two weeks. I really want my skin to look as blemish free as possible by then. Also I've never had a boyfriend and I'm worried this could be why, I'm scared that I'll never get one if my acne goes on. If you cared enough to read this long post, thanks so much! If you reccomend any spot products or makeup for oily, spotty, sensitive skin, or have any advice I would be very grateful if you could reply. Please note that I am unable to afford expensive stuff, and please only reccomend products available in the UK! :) X

Hey I've always had a problem with mild acne all through my teenage life (I'm 19 now) I've only just recently figured out a routine for my skin, it does take a lot of trying different products and combinations but you will get there. This is what I use: Garnier foam wash in the mornings - can get it from Superdrug or boots for about £3 I also have a Problem with the bead things in exfoliates but exfoliating is so important and my way around it is the Garnier Exfo brush (it's amazing!) it's about £8 but seriously worth it! I use mine everyday I still have loads left! After that I use Garnier Anti blemish moisturiser just before I put on makeup because I find some makeup dry out my skin - this is about £4 you don't get a lot but it does really hydrate your face. Also I try to use a face mask every week - one for oily/combination skin Defo try to use makeup that it oil free, if you use powder in my opinion loose powder is better. As like you I can't afford the most expensive products but I use maxfactor Xperience weightless foundation ... It is £10 but Defo worth it. It's really light (a little goes a long way) doesn't cake up, and doesn't make my skin oily. Obviously you may not be be the same as me but something you should always do is Drink loads of water throughout the day everyday. and Remember to take off makeup every I hope some of this has helped. It may take time because everyone is different but you will eventually get there just be patient . :) Xxx
