What are the career opportunities in Hotel Management?

Career in hotel management with inner arm tattoo?

  • I applied for college (hotel management) and I intend working in front office and working my way up to a management position. I speak fluenty 3 languages, really love tourism, but I have an inner arm tattoo, almost reaches the wrist. it's a couple of inches long. Will I be fine if I just cover it up with a bandage/make up? Will I have issues getting a job? Is the hotel industry very strict with tattoos? Please help, I really appreciate it, if you know anyone with a similiar situation, tell me all about it. Thanks!

    You may be able to get an entry-level job but management will frown on the tattoo most of the time if it is a decent hotel. You can usually cover it up with a bandage or make up, but your best bet is to just wear long sleeves and a really good deodorant. Most of my friends wear longer sleeves to cover up their tattoos when the jobs complain about the tattoos.

As a veteren today tatoos are more acceptable in todays society how ever if it is obtrusive it will not help matters, but there are 2 ways around your situation one is to have it removed and the secound is that since you would like to be in manegment or working the front desk most likely you will have to wear appropriot attire, eigther a sport coat or a shirt and tie and if it is and most likely will be shirt and tie use long sleve shirts untill you can afford the removal of the tatoo as it is tatoos are much more graphic than body peircing! consider youself lucky consider youself lucky as not have a Ball bearing hanging out of your mouth or beads along your eyebrows!
