If i stay on my bank website and don't pay bills, can i be hacked?

However, you will typically be logged out in 10 or so mins of inactivity. As to being hacked, most people get their bank account details hacked by following a Phishing e-mail. This is an e-mail than pretends to be from your bank, with a link asking you to login, change your password or update your details. The link is normally to a bogus site that collects your credentials (login/password). These e-mail are generally recognizable by the lack of personalization, ie. it doesn't say Dear John Smith - but this isn't always the case.
