How do you train a puppy not ro bite?

I've always found spraying with a water bottle every time the puppy bites works.

There are a few ways, just depends on your dog for what will work. You can make a yelp sound when they bite to sound as if it hurt you or make an eh eh sound like people do with kids when they do something they shouldn't. If using the eh eh sound do it in a stern tone but not mean. If you yell, push or hurt the dog it can cause it to be mean. You don't want to send the wrong message. And never look your dog straight in the eyes, this challenges them and can very easily change their personality to aggressive. Also, you can get a spray from a pet store (there are a few brands, each working on different dogs), that you can just spray a little on your hands before playing and if they bite or put their mouth on your hands they will not like the flavor. I have actually tasted this when I worked in a pet store before I would sell it to anyone. It's just a bitter flavor and it completely safe. One is named bitter apple but there are others I can't remember the name of. Most pet stores will know what you are talking about if you tell them its a bitter flavored spray for training.

When he bites, take hold of his skull in both hands, holding his muzzle shut. Look down into his eyes and growl at him, in as low and forceful a voice as you can manage, "NO! NO TEETH!" Then push him away and walk away. He needs to learn that biting ends the interaction with you. If he jumps and puts his paws on you, turn around fast with both arms swung wide and high over your head, to make you look HUGE, and snap, "NO! BAD DOG." Then walk away again and continue to ignore him. When he comes up to you with his ears flattened and his tailtip wagging low, then tell him he's wonderful and pet him.

I don't know if this will work for you . But, I bit mine back right away,and said a firm NO, and she stopped.

If he tries to bite you give him a good rap on the nose, or if that doesn't work, then yip loudly or grab him and make him look you in the eyes when he does. Assert your dominance xD and act ticked off whenever he does it. Don't punish him, though. It will make his behavior worse.

try giving him a bone to munch on. you can get plastic bones or you can get a rubber bone, and tell him to munch on that. i've seen dogs munch on bones for hours. it's like they get obsessed with the bone and don't care aobout anything else LOL !
