Why does the man think he's dominate over woman?

  • When you sit back and look at this is a realist view, the fact that man thinks he can be dominate over a woman is just ridiculous. Man should be equal with his feminine counter part. He just thinks he so better when it's just ego that he's fooling himself with. What makes me really mad but I don't usually express it, is that Christians are so obedient of this. They whole-heartedly believe that man should rule. When I woman Christians says this I am in disbelief, when a christian man says this I'm like 'oh my gosh what a noob. I'm not a hater, but I don't get this. I don't think I could ever love a man who thought like this. I'm pretty sure that this is the way to go. I though god or Jesus or whatever would be down for equality. I don't see why it's is so important to their ego to try to be dominant and I can't believe they think this can fly. Why do men think they are born with some divine right to rule woman. If any one approached me like that they would be shut down. They should understand that what ever they got going on in their head won't work in my world. I'd love your opinion, even if it's hating

    Women actually like aggressive/"alpha" men because they make them feel protected... for mating and birthing purposes... to protect their offspring. It's an old-fashioned view that women should be controlled. It's in a history written by men, although obviously a lot of correct things were discovered as well. It also varies from woman to woman depending on social conditioning and how they were brought up. Edit: I agree a bit with Emcee. There's been a lot of talk about being a "real man" or a "real woman". A real man has a penis, is more likely to behave like a provider (although doesn't have to because we have evolved far beyond most primates). Control has nothing to do with it other than the mating habits of men which conflict with women's. You should Google the study. It's to womens' detriment to let theirselves be controlled when it comes to "mating", but increasingly it is becoming that you are not a "real man" unless you behave like this. 2: You will find some men don't like to be told this, hence the thumbs-down.

I totally agree with this, men shouldn't think they have control over women. But, society puts pressure on men to think this way. For example, when kids, particularly when boys are young and do something weak, a common insult, or statement in response would be " you ____ like a girl" say, if the person was fighting another person then maybe the other person would say " you fight like a girl". Another thing commonly said to little boys or younger guys is " be a man" or "toughen up" etc. it's common for parents to put pressure on young kids to toughen up and not show their "feminine side" when in reality, it's completely normal, regardless of gender, to feel strong emotions and express them. Like crying, one time i saw a person say "be a man, toughen up" to a young boy who was crying, when it's completely normal response for young kids to cry when they are upset. If you look at ads, it's an everyday thing to see that a lot of the time, men are standing over or shown to be towering over women in ads, it's also commonplace to show women as objects and also half naked. another reason men might feel they are dominant over women is because of their natural physique, usually men do have better upper body strength than women. of coarse, what a lot of men don't realize is that women are better at enduring pain, because women have to go through childbirth. There are plenty of strong independent females that can put "dominant" men in their place.

Well think about it this way: If you take a man and woman and and put them in a jungle how will they live? The woman will likely become pregnant and have children, and the female (like in many animals) has a natural tendency to care for her Children. During this time, it's impossible to say that the man and woman are equal in terms of providing, the woman is guaranteed to be handicapped by her conditions during pregnancy and by her children. The man on the other hand is born with a physically stronger, larger body; and is naturally more aggressive (testosterone). By looking at it in this perspective, and considering how human life style has transitioned over the centuries I can understand how the male appears to be more "dominant" by some standards. Despite this however, there is no doubting the female is more dominant in other facets of life (i.e development of children). Bottom line is I think men and woman are not exactly "equal" based on this, but there's no reason to believe one has a greater role than the other.
