I no exactly what you mean I started dance classes earlier this year I was so nervous! I do street dance/ hip hop lessons too. I'm 14. Basically what you do is just follow what the teacher Is doing. She'll be up the front and all of you follow her. She'll do the warm up first and then start into the routines. I got so nervous the first time it was un- believable. I wore a vest top and jogging bottoms. I hope you have a really good time and if you need to talk or anything my email is: [email protected] Hope I helped. ~Shay

Well it's really all according if you are thrown into a class with girls who have been there for a while or if you are with other girls who are just beginning. If you are thrown into a class with girls who have been at the studio for a while, you instructor WILL NOT stop classes just to discuss things that the other girls already know. She will most likely talk to you after class with your mom or whoever is with you. If the class is a class full of girls that have been there, your instructor will probably try to help you out more and take a little extra time in class to show you certain steps. If you are going into a class with other girls who are just beginning, then that is when your instructor will spend the entire class period talking about the rules, regulations, and so on of the studio. She will explain to you what to do and what not to do. She will most likely explain safety and give you terminology of dance. This all goes for if you are the only new person in the class, but she'll do all of the above after class to you only. Hope this helped. Have fun! And don't be too nervous.

i guess it depends on the dance studio and teacher. when i first started i just started dancing, but i guess if it's an entirely new class (as in everyone in the class is new) then they might talk about it but my guess is that you will be dancing :)
