Why is my stereo head unit turning off?

Want to change my car stereo ! Sony multi player with another brand head unit? will it work?

• I have a Sony CD Multi player and want to change my car stereo do I have to stick with the same brand (Sony) car stereo head unit or will any make work with the Multi cd stacker? And do it have to rewire the electrics in the car for the new head unit to work (are the wiring loom plugs you can buy all different for different names e.g is JVC different to Alpine and so on) Please help pretty clueless here Thank you.

  You can get different bus cables & adaptors to get your new head unit to work with your Sony changer: Check online first - Ebay is a good source - because there's no guarantee that a newer Sony head unit will work with an older Sony changer. 99% of cars have standard ISO wiring connectors for the stereo, and a new stereo will either come with a standard ISO plug or an adapter to plug into a standard ISO socket. There's NEVER any point in cutting & crimping wires as even if you need a specific adapter for older or non standard cars, they're only a couple of quid off Ebay or from your nearest car accessories stockist and are a safer & neater way of making connections.
